Mandarin Duck: This stunning little bird has seemingly taken up residence in Leigh, along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal near Pennington Marina.
Despite its obvious credentials (being an escaped bird) sporting a pink poultry ring on its right leg , it's still a very smart looking bird and definitely sand put next to the local mallards and coots.
Nice little area this I remember twitching a Slavonian grebe in the same area back in 2013.
