Whooper Swans: 0ver 100 Whoopers at Martin Mere Wildfowl and Wetland Trust is such a spectacular sight.









Teal: There where 2 drake Teal very close to Swanlink Hide showing really well dabbling in the water.

Great to see such a small wildfowl in such close quarters instaed off in the distance through the scope!






Reed Bunting: Along with this female Reed Bunting there where several males, Green Finch, Goldfinch, Chaffinch and the usual Tits alomg with a Willow Tit seen from the Janet Kear Hide.

15/02/2012 New Brighton

Purple Sandpiper: New Brighton Marina Lake there where 22 Purple Sandpiper on pontoon.

Relatively far away as the gate was closed approaching the pontoon and it was very windy! So appologies for the shabby shot.







Here is a ragtag gang of waders sleeping out of the wind on the sheltered pontoon.

The small flock included Redshank, Turnstone, Purple Sandpipers and Sanderlings.

08/02/2012 Frodsham Mrah

Redwing: Frodsham Marsh on a cold and claer day. This stunning little Thrush was spotted in the horse feild near Marsh Lane feeding on the ground along with Blackbirds, Song Thrush and Robins.

02/02/2012 Kinmel Bay, Rhyl

Snow Buntimgs & Greenfinch: The Snow Bunting where not alone. There was a single fat Greenfinch in tow.











Meadow Pipit: And a Meadow Pipit which flew in with the small flock and hung around for about 5mins before flying away over the dunes.

Snow Bunting: A visit Rhyl rewarded me with 7 Snow Buntings. Better light this time and less wind pushed them cloer to me getting to good views and observing one really good behaviour.

Stonechat: On the Dee revealed a few Stonechat both male and feemales where observed in the reeds and perching on the fence posts.
